Hanging baskets for shady locations

For the front of Bloomery (located on the Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds) I created hanging baskets that could cope with a limited amount of sunlight as the entrance is north facing. I used ferns (Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance' and Dryopteris affinis 'Cristata The King') and paired these with a variegated Ivy (Hedera Helix 'Glacier') and also Common Ivy (Hedera Helix). The gold/bronze tones in ‘Brilliance’ and the Common Ivy pick up the soft gold of the Nkuku Yongeli antique brass wire lantern which is really for use indoors with a candle, but as I love plants I couldn’t resist using it as a more modern hanging basket.
